The State of French Real Estate

The State of French Real Estate

FRANCE is one of the sought-after countries in the world as far as tourism is concerned. It is said to be the most romantic nation in the world although this is a subjective observation definitely. Because of this and a number of other reasons, France is a tourist hub not just for other Europeans but for people from other continents as well from Timbuktu to Maui. Because France is a signatory of the Schengen agreement and because of its geographical proximity to other countries in the European mainland, many visitors from other countries like Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Andorra and Spain can easily go to France via its land borders without being inspected. During this time when winter is approaching, many visitors go to the Alps to have a taste of a few winter sports such as skiing. And synonymous with this tourist phenomenon is the presence of winter cabins, lodges, manors and villas. This is where the boom of French real estate comes in. Aside from winter areas, lovers usually troop to France at this time of year and marvel at the spectacular night skyline especially during the holidays. Some even take two months off from work and lease holiday homes here in France. Thus, demand for vacation retreat houses start as early as right now. Some romantic places of interest which are usually lighted up during Christmas season in this predominantly Catholic country are the snowy side of Nice, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Notre Dame Cathedral and countless others.

In fact, the demand for properties is so huge that even a major European airliner has partnered with several high-profile French real estate agencies so that their passengers are enticed to buy properties in the country too. In a recent development, the Dutch-owned KLM Airlines has announced that it will provide booking conduit services to holiday homes for vacationing passengers. These holiday homes are in turn managed by French real estate agencies whose employees are dispatched to the tourists and convince the latter to invest in properties here in France. After all, France is a unique country on its own. Its people are said to be highly intellectual and reserved in nature but are friendly and accommodating at the same time. French people usually help foreigners when the latter are at lost or simply need companionship. If one is a nudist, then the French real estate agency can easily tour that person to properties near Cap d’Agde, the domed campus in the country which is a community full of nudists. It has its own shopping mall for nudists where all the front desk staff and salesladies are all in the nude.

In areas where France meets the coast of the Mediterranean, one can find the most concentration of tourists living permanently. Real estate is definitely a boon here. This is so because these tourists are mostly British expatriates in their 60s who want to retire healthy and savor the nutritious Mediterranean catch. Most of the restaurants located here cook their fish fresh and not frozen.
